About Us

Laser.physio was set up by an experienced Physiotherapist*, based on many years of experience in applying laser as a modality to assist with soft tissue injury. This initial experience was with very low powered lasers, but the effects were significant: clients reported marked reduction in pain and rapid recovery from injury.

In more recent years, following many reviews of the research literature to confirm that the effect of the laser is in fact scientifically based, and not just placebo, Darren invested in a Class 4 K-Laser, one of the most highly regarded therapeutic lasers in the world.

This high-powered laser was a game-changer.

After 6 months of getting great results from this first laser, a second K-Laser was purchased.

It has become apparent that a high-quality laser can provide a valuable adjunct to traditional hands-on and exercise-based physiotherapy.  In many cases, laser treatments can be delivered in isolation from other treatments, particularly when the client is familiar with their therapeutic exercises and is following a plan for return to normal activity.

We want to make this quite clear: laser treatment is not a “silver bullet”.  It can’t do everything, and most treatments will include additional input – for example: education, manual therapy, advising on appropriate loading or instruction in therapeutic exercise.  However, as a low-cost intervention that can supplement the body’s natural healing, laser treatments can be extremely effective when applied in conjunction with your therapist’s treatments.  We are more than happy to work with other therapists, providing accelerated tissue healing while our colleagues provide other input.
